What is 'Weng Weng Forever'?

'Weng Weng Forever' was inspired by Andrew Leavold's quest to research and discover the history of 1980's Fillipino action film star 'Weng Weng'.

This culminated in his fascinating documentary "The Search for Weng Weng".

I first became aware of Andrew Leavold's work through an online blog he started when he had a store in Brisbane, Australia called 'Trash Video'. This can be found at:

His interest and vast knowledge of underground / strange films from around the world is astounding. He has done a great deal of research into the largely unknown genre of Phillipine underground films.

After completing  "The Search for Weng Weng", Andrew was given a head cast of Weng Weng which was possibly made for stand-in dummies for "The Impossible Kid".  A very rare and unique piece of Fillipino film history.

In the past I have done special effects make-up, mask making and head / body casting.  When I learnt of the head cast Andrew was given, I had to make a copy of it!
I live in South Australia and Andrew lives in Queensland. It took about nine months of polite pestering via the internet before he lent it to me so I could take a copy of it.

My dream is to one day make a silicone duplicate of Weng Weng from a copy of this head cast, one that looks like the real Weng Weng.

Andrew advised me he needed someone to make Weng Weng bobbleheads for those who contributed to the Kickstarter project to get his documentary made.
This was a no-brainer, I began sculpting right away!

Two prototypes and five hundred bobbleheads were manufactured.
